Where do Vegans get their calcium and iron from?

  • I'm just curious, if vegans don't eat any animals products, such as milk or cheese were do they get their calcium from? Further where do they get their iron from?

  • calcium and iron are easy

it's b12 that can be difficult

  • Oh goodness. I mostly get my calcium from kale, soy products, orange juice, broccoli and almonds. Kale is a leafy green vegetable that provides more calcium than milk does. Most people don't know this, but milk is not the number one source of calcium.

I get my iron mostly from mock meats, such as veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs.

Anyways vegans do not have a problem getting calcium and iron in their diets, and despite the myth, their are hardly any vegans with anemia or iron deficiency. Well hope I helped!

  • there is a natural remedy called biologic iron.
it's made from chlorella pyrenoidosa, ginseng and cynosbati fructus.
this - aside from other food sources other users mentioned.

  • Theres heaps of different ways! Dried beans and dark green leafy vegetables are especially good sources of iron, even better on a per calorie basis than meat. Iron absorption is increased markedly by eating foods containing vitamin C along with foods containing iron. Vegetarians do not have a higher incidence of iron deficiency than do meat eaters. We just get the goodness first hand not through a herbivore animal

  • calcium from soymilk and soy yogurt, and for iron you can take a pill.
