American version of Kath and Kim .. what where they thinking ?

  • my god that was one of the worst shows i have ever seen ...
    the original Kath and Kim was hilarious because it was making fun of Australia
    do Americans seriously find this show funny ?
    they should never try and remake shows like that or at least if they do don't play it in Australia
    what do u guys think ??

    it got really bad reviews but apparently rated quite well for its debut night

    i dunno i mean watching it i didnt find it very funny.. but maybe its more targeted at an american audience.. and even though im a massive fan of the australian show it definitley took me a whole to get into it, it was quite quirky to begin with and i didnt quite get where it was coming from.

    but now im like number 1 fan..

    so maybe its just something u need to get used to.

    selma hayek is too hot for the role of Kim
    so is the chick who plays Kath
    its TERRIBLE


  • I haven't seen it but I've read about it and seen pictures and advertisements.

    It looks absolutely terrible.


  • I'm English, we had the proper version over here, it was quite good. Americans always remake stuff, for some reason they just can't show something as it is, they're scared that Americans might learn about another culture and try to visit there or something (remember they're not allowed passports lol). Usually they get the word "American" in there during the conversion too, I'm surprised it's not called:

    Kath & Kim: Women In America.

    They do that to try and make people think it's an American show when it's usually a British show (or Australian in this case).


  • It was re made in America because typically they thought they could do it better! It's a complete disaster and I felt embarrassed watching it.
    They should have LEFT IT ALONE! It's not funny at all!
